HKB è Eng Chun Kun (Wing Chun Kyun)

English Version

Int.: Do you use this one or this one?

Gm Lin: That’s the part that’s really confused because, you know, when we have something elder than the Chinese culture, both of them come actually from Eng Chun, you know it’s the same thing, either ways from the same way, you know, so no one really knows exactly which one, but the actual pronunciation is definitely Eng Chun Kun.

Gm Tio Tek Kwie: In the past, my teacher never talked or showed the Chinese Character. He made it look like not to like this topic by changing the discussion topics every time it arose. Later on, after the situation’s getting better, then the past history was being revealed through initial oath or and must do oath. The Name of Eng Chun Kun was rarely spoken because among the few teachers, they were not allowed to use the name. One time, there was a visiting guest who came and demonstrate a style that looked similar but different. That person said he was from Eng Chun Kun. After he left, a student had discussion and my teacher said Eng Chun has two versions. So a student asked why our looked the same. The truth is that our style is actually Eng Chun of the male version and that person (the one who just left) was the female version. That was when we finally knew the name of our style (Eng Chun Kun).
